Chris, i think you have the wrong Iceman, this iceman case is a little bit older, say about 5000 yrs. The original cold case quite literally.

He was found frozen in the southern alps by a couple of hikers. He had been there frozen for 5300 yrs .It was originally thought that he died of natural causes or exposure. It was not until about 10 yrs later when they did x-rays again that they found the arrow head burried in his back. Upon further examination they found evidence of fresh cuts on his hands. His knife was found next to him and fit perfectly in his frozen hand. His death had been violent. He had excaped his attackers, but the arrow wound was a fatal shot hitting the artery between the shoulder blade and back. It was a remarkable shot by a skilled bowsman given the bow technology of the time. Uphill, at 30yrds, with a moving target. Some of todays best archers in the world cannot make this shot with the bows and arrows available from this time period.

He was an older man for the time period. He was most likely a rich man for the period. He carried many items with him.He had a copper axe ! A 1000yrs before the bronze age. He had tattoo's on his body. A 1000 yrs before they thought the first tattoo's were used in China. The tattoo's corresponded to accupunture pressure points, again many yrs before they thought it was known in China. These points match to known ailments that the iceman had. He also carried many herbs. Most of which their medicinal purposes related to his various joint and medical problems.

They do play 2- 1 or 2 hr long programs about him every once in a while on the Discovery channel.

I find it all very interesting, but I like all history. Especially pre-historic society
to the early medieval periods.

Incidentally, Richard Kuklinski (the other ice-man) is a real psycho, claims to have murdered over 200 people (and animals) Perhaps he should be added to the serial killers on this site, he certainly killed more than three.
