It is amazing to me how Mark's sister went to the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department to request some information on her brothers case and she is told they found some bones in Arizona and New Mexico that "Somewhat" match her DNA. What kind of answer is that to tell a family member?
I would ask to see his cold case file, find out the name of the man that said he saw Mark and David surfing and turned around and they were gone in a flash. How can you disappear in a flash with a surf board tied to your ankle?
Where are all the files and photos and newpaper articles?
This is very hard on the family for them to tell her that they found bones in two states that "somewhat" match her DNA, and that they need Mark's twin sister to come and give DNA. This is very hard on his twin to be told this information after all these years.
Where is the cold case file? All cases that are not cleared are kept in the cold case files. Where is the file? Where is the witness name?
And what happened to those bones that Lt. Matt Wingo found? Did the Sheriff's department run DNA on those bones? Where are the bones? They were of two different people. Who were they? Did they use DNA to test them? It is scary to think bones or other evidence would just be tossed aside and never thought about again until the family comes forward 37 years later to inquire. Do "we" not pay salaries to investigators to work these cold cases?
From what I understand the family is going to try and go to the newspaper and get them to run a story on it again to remind people of the case and try and get some information out on Mark. The parents and siblings of this young man have been wondering for 37 long years what happened to Mark?
Was the ball dropped? Was the case file put in file number 13?? Where is the file? Show it to the family, they have the right to see it. Mark's parents are in their 80's and they would like to have peace about where there son is before they leave this earth.
